Where is our Grapeseed Oil bottled?

Frank's Q & A
Frank Montie answers your burning questions about the Wildtree products!

  1. Where is our Grapeseed Oil bottled?  It is infused and bottled in OUR manufacturing facility in Warwick, RI.
  1. What is the vegetable in vegetable fiber?  The vegetables are fiber filled vegetables like beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, chard, garbanzo beans, celery, eggplant and leek.
  1. Do we have Genetically Modified Ingredients?  Absolutely not!
  1. Is Wildtree nut free?  Wildtree is nut free, except for tree nuts.  Because we use coconut in some blends, we cannot say we are tree nut free.
  1. Why does the color vary from bottle to bottle with many of our sauces?  Because Wildtree does not use food dyes nor do we add color. Plus, fruits and vegetables naturally vary in color. No two raspberries or tomatoes look the same; therefore, no two batches of sauce will look the same.
  1. What are the Sodium Guidelines Set by the FDA?
Sodium-free – less than 5 milligrams of sodium per serving
• Very low-sodium – 35 milligrams or less per serving
• Low-sodium – 140 milligrams or less per serving
• Reduced sodium – usual sodium level is reduced by 25 percent
• Unsalted, no salt added or without added salt – made without the salt that’s normally used, but still contains the sodium that’s a natural part of the food itself
The FDA and USDA state that an individual food that has the claim “healthy” must not exceed 480 mg sodium per reference amount. “Meal type” products must not exceed 600 mg sodium per labeled serving size
  1. Can you re-use Grapeseed Oil?  Yes!   If you are going to fry with it, you should keep the 'used oil' in the refrigerator and filter, using a coffee filter or a mesh filter, any debris that is left over from the previous frying.
  1. With our natural butter flavored grapeseed oil's flavor profile being extracted from coconuts, if someone is allergic to all nuts, would they be allergic to the butter flavor GSO?   There is no tree nut protein in the oil, so the person would NOT have to worry about consuming it.

Wildtree Tasting vs Freezer Meal Workshop

Interested in hosting...The Wildtree Way?
Think FRIENDS, FUN, FOOD, and FREE!
Here are 2 options.....
Wildtree Leah
Wildtree Tasting
This is the perfect type of gathering for those who haven't tried Wildtree before. If the majority of your friends that will be attending haven't tried Wildtree....this is the Party to start with.
Wildtree parties are very simple to pull together. No need to stress about what to serve at your party... I will bring a wide variety of samples to the party and you as the hostess prepare (6-8) simple samples. Kitchen prep time for the samples is about 20-30 minutes depending on interruptions :). All of the samples can be made the night before the party or the morning of the party, so no need to feel rushed right before your guests arrive. No need to mail out invitations, because word of mouth invites get the job done, and I'll provide a cute e-mail invitation/reminder! Efficient!

The party itself is VERY laid back. Overall the total length of the party is about two hours. Of the two hours, I only talk for about 20 minutes. The rest of the time is spent socializing and sampling the delicious food. During this time, if so desired, I am also available to answer questions that people have regarding their cooking needs and to help them customize a meal plan that would be right for the guest that is in line with the way they eat already.
Wildtree Leah
Wildtree Freezer Meal Workshop
This is the perfect type of gathering for those who already love and use Wildtree. This workshop will show everyone how easy it is to prepare meals ahead of time saving you both time and money. All guests will leave with several prepped meals for their freezer with many ideas on what to do with some of the Wildtree Blends they still haven't used.
The setting for these workshops is very different than a traditional tasting. As a host, you may want to have 1 small snack and something to drink but the majority of the time will be spent prepping meals. Depending on the number of guests, the workshop lasts about 2 hours, which includes some time to chat...but not much  To host a workshop you need to have enough space to accommodate 8-10 workstations. The minimum number of participants required to do a workshop is 10 with no maximum number....really depends on what your home can accommodate.

The workshops require more advanced notice because everyone who is planning to attend must Pre-pay for their Workshop Bundle. The bundles are ordered about 3 weeks prior to the workshop dates so that all Wildtree Products will be available on the day of the workshop.

What does a hostess receive for hosting a tasting/workshop?
Of course the best benefit of hosting a tasting is having a really fun night with all of the people you love to be around- friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and other acquaintances. As a hostess, you will also be richly rewarded for hosting your tasting. Hostess rewards are 15-20% of the total sales. On average, most of my hostesses earn about $80- $100 or more in free products. Considering our price points are about $6-$13, this free credit goes a long way! In addition to the free credit, we have monthly promotions and 1/2 priced items for bookings.

If you are hosting a Freezer Meal workshop....well, with the required minimum attendance...your Workshop Bundle is FREE (plus more free products, depending upon the number of friends that come)!

Chipotle Pork Nachos

Chipotle Pork Nachos - Wildtree Recipes

Method of Preparation

Trim any large areas of fat from the roast; cut roast in half and place in a slow cooker. Season with 1 tablespoon Spicy Chipotle Ranch and Guacamole Seasoning. Add lime and orange juices to the slow cooker. Move the pork halves around to make sure the bottoms are coated in the juice. Cover and cook on high for about 4 hours or until the meat shreds easily. Remove pork from slow cooker and shred; return to slow cooker to keep warm. While pork is cooking, preheat oven to 400°F. Brush one side of each tortilla with Natural Grapeseed Oil. Cut tortillas into chips. Spread in a single layer on baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Chips will crisp up as they cool. Also while the pork is cooking, prepare the toppings. Cut the tomato, red onion, and scallion. Mix together sour cream and remaining 1 tablespoon Spicy Chipotle Ranch; refrigerate until you are ready to serve. Once pork is cooked, prepare the cheese sauce. Heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat until just before boiling. Reduce heat to low and add shredded cheddar in batches, whisking until the cheese is completely melted before adding more. Remove from heat. To assemble nachos: Divide half the chips between 5 plates. Top each using half the pork, half of the cheese sauce, tomato, and red onion. Repeat with a second layer using remaining chips, remaining pork, remaining cheese sauce, tomato, and red onion. Top each with Spicy Chipotle Ranch sour cream, scallions, and pickled jalapenos.

Top 10 Worst Food Ingredients

Top 10 Worst Food Ingredients
Huffington Post Living

When a regular fat like corn, soybean, or palm oil is blasted with hydrogen and turned into a solid, it becomes a trans fat. These evil anti-nutrients help packaged foods stay “fresh,” meaning that the food can sit on the supermarket shelf for years without ever getting stale or rotting. Eating junk food with trans fats raises your “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and lowers your “good” HDL. These fats also increase your risk of blood clots and heart attack. Avoid palm oil and other trans fats like the plague, and kiss fried foods goodbye too, since they’re usually fried in one of these freakish trans-fatty oils.
Ditch any food that lists shortening or partially hydrogenated oil as an ingredient, since these are also evil trans fats. In addition to clogging your arteries and causing obesity, they also increase your risk of metabolic syndrome. Choose healthier monounsaturated fats, such as olive, peanut and canola oils and foods that contain unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids instead.
When a whole grain is refined, most of its nutrients are sucked out in an effort to extend its shelf life. Both the bran and germ are removed, and therefore all the fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Because these stripped down, refined grains are devoid of fiber and other nutrients, they’re also easy to digest — TOO EASY. They send your blood sugar and insulin skyrocketing, which can lead to all sorts of problems. Replace processed grains with whole grains, like brown or wild rice, whole-wheat breads and pastas, barley, and oatmeal.
The evil king of all refined grains is high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). The amount of refined sugar we consume has declined over the past 40 years, but we’re consuming almost 20 times as much HFCS. According to researchers at Tufts University, Americans, for example, consume more calories from HFCS than any other source. It’s in practically EVERYTHING. It increases triglycerides, boosts fat-storing hormones, and drives people to overeat and gain weight. Adopt my zero-tolerance policy, and steer clear of this sweet “poison.”
Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal), saccharin (Sweet'N Low, SugarTwin), and sucralose (Splenda) may be even harder on our metabolic systems than plain old sugar. These supposedly diet-friendly sweeteners may actually be doing more harm than good! Studies suggest that artificial sweeteners trick the brain into forgetting that sweetness means extra calories, making people more likely to keep eating sweet treats without abandon. Nip it in the bud. Scan ingredient labels and ban all artificial sweeteners from entering your mouth.
These preservatives are sometimes added to soda to prevent mold from growing, but benzene is a known carcinogen that is also linked with serious thyroid damage. Dangerous levels of benzene can build up when plastic bottles of soda are exposed to heat or when the preservatives are combined with ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Don’t risk it, people.
BHA is another potentially cancer-causing preservative, but it has been deemed safe by the FDA. Its job is to help prevent spoilage and food poisoning, but it’s a major endocrine disruptor and can seriously mess with your hormones. BHA is in HUNDREDS of foods. It’s also found in food packaging and cosmetics. BHA has many aliases. You can look them up. Or you can follow my advice and DITCH processed foods altogether.
No that’s not a typo. These two different preservatives are found in processed meats like bacon, lunch meat, and hot dogs. They’re some of the worst offenders, and they’re believed to cause colon cancer and metabolic syndrome, which can lead to diabetes. Protect your health by always choosing fresh, organic meats.
The artificial colors blue 1 and 2, green 3, red 3, and yellow 6 have been linked to thyroid, adrenal, bladder, kidney, and brain cancers. Always seek out foods with the fewest artificial chemicals, especially when shopping for your kids. Look for color-free medications and natural food products that don’t contain artificial colors like these.
Monosodium glutamate is a processed “flavor enhancer.” While glutamates are present in some natural foods, such as meat and cheese, the ones exploited by the processed-foods industry are separated from their host proteins through hydrolysis. The jury is still out on how harmful MSG may be, but high levels of free glutamates have been shown to seriously screw with brain chemistry. Don’t fall prey to chemical flavor enhancing. Just play it safe and flavor your food naturally.
